SimpleLine® Cladding
Cemintel Simpleline are smooth wall cladding panels featuring subtle ship-lap joints. Their lack of grooves, shadow lines, and texture offers a minimalist appearance, providing visual relief in mixed cladding facade designs or creating a blank canvas that highlights the building’s form.
The ship-lap joints create a subtle vertical express joint effect where the panels connect. The main design choice lies in the colour.
Opt for standard exterior-grade paint for a classic finish, or select a texture coat for a matte effect. While whites and greys are popular, more vibrant colours are typically used for smaller feature walls.

Product Information
Simpleline cladding is straightforward in both name and function. The large panels enable quick coverage of extensive external wall areas, and the ship-lap joints facilitate easy panel alignment. Using a nail gun further speeds up the installation process.
Ideal for new home construction, Simpleline cladding is perfect for broad external walls and garage walls where efficient installation is prioritised over intricate design details.
The panels feature a subtle 3.5mm deep V-shaped expressed joint. For a neat, symmetrical appearance, plan the panel layout on both front and rear facades carefully. Starting from the centre and working outwards ensures alignment, or match joints with windows or design features to minimise the visibility of the grooves.
To enhance Simpleline with a decorative touch, consider adding vertical battens for a contemporary board and batten look. Install Cemintel Trims vertically on 1200mm wide sheets at 600mm, 400mm, or 300mm intervals to conceal the ship-lap joint every 1200mm. The 19 x 45 x 4200 battens create a standing seam style, while larger battens like the 38 x 89 x 3640 are better suited for expansive walls.

Installation
There are two methods for installing Simpleline cladding:
1. Direct Fixing: Attach the cladding directly to timber frames using the specified nails, or to light gauge steel frames using screws. This method is the most cost-effective.
2. Cavity Fixing: Install battens or top-hats to the frame first, then attach the cladding to these battens or top-hats, creating a drained and vented cavity. This method is ideal for buildings exposed to higher wind loads or requiring enhanced weatherproofing.
Simpleline cladding is suitable for use in applications where non-combustible materials are required, as per the National Construction Code Volume One, Clause C2D1 Deemed-to-Satisfy Provisions (6)(d).
It is also appropriate for Bushfire Attack Levels up to BAL-29 when installed in accordance with Australian Standard AS3959. For external walls in bushfire zones, the cladding can be upgraded to BAL-FZ if it is part of a fire-rated plasterboard wall system.
